The History - Historical restaurant on Varese Lake, has been a point of reference for gourmets who have frequented it over the decades to taste the flavours of the territory in contact with nature. Artists, actors and personalities from the cultural and entrepreneurial scene, not only Italian, have sat at the tables of Gallione, appreciating the recipes linked to tradition.
The curiosity - The name Gallione evokes the ancient Celtic or Gallic lineages that founded most of the villages in the Insubrica area. After the Roman period, new people from the north, the Lombard, resumed their toponymal, perhaps giving it the new form of gaagium (a sort of hunting reserve of the German nobility). Gaion was a big “roncola”, with an elongated handle, used in hunting.
The present - Completely rebuilt in 2010 with a great combination of style, design and elegance, today the restaurant Al Gallione offers an atmosphere perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature, with a large parking and lot spaces to visit. The nuances of the dove-grey and cream dominate on the decorations and colours of the interiors, creating a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, but always refined. Harmony dominates the interior setting, in full respect of the classic style, while the choice of supports from the Classico Conviviale collection gives to the subjects represented a particular and unusual charm.
Al Gallione relives the dream of that past from a contemporary perspective. The dream is renewed in the cultural continuity of the building designed with low environmental impact, in the light and in the atmosphere, that pervades the places of convivium, in the interiors and in the landscape with the worthy splendour of the enchanting valley. To make the structure even more welcoming, the artist and friend Gianfranco Gentile has created for us the paintings that you can admire on the walls, from the "Classico Conviviale" collection.

The area of Varese Lake has always been famous for its beautiful, well-kept and always blooming gardens, which are part of the nineteenth-century villas overlooking the lake.
In addition to the refined interiors, guests can also enjoy at the Ristorante al Gallione an elegant and wide garden, which can be accessed directly from the structure: a Roman-style porch allows buffet and banquets for any occasion; the garden with the elegant gazebo is the ideal location for important ceremonies - weddings, confirmations, communions, baptisms - for birthdays and anniversaries, but also to take a cocktail, have lunch, have dinner or to have a relaxing moment. A multi-seasonal garden, different every month of the year.
You can taste a concentrated of the "flavour" Gallione for work or pleasure, in the comfortable room of the Lounge Bar. Whether during the day for brunch and refreshment, or in the evening for aperitifs and wine tastings, you can't help but let yourself be spoiled.
A charming room that has always played an important and almost magical role in history. Our small cellar, located in the basement, maintains and preserves our wine collection at a controlled temperature. We have also structured it to welcome wine-lovers who are happy to organize special tastings.
The refinement of the rooms, the decorations and colours that create a convivial and relaxed atmosphere, the large garden and portico in Roman style make Gallione the ideal location to organize business dinners and business meetings. Our qualified staff will organize your business day in all details, keeping the needs of the company: from aperitif at the Lounge Bar or in the garden during the summer to the dinner served in the wide dining room.
